Twinpalms Phuket Resort Phuket‘s Most Exciting & Stylish Contemporary Resort

Eco Conscious

Phuket Resort Surin Beach
Reflecting the growing concern for the environment around the world, the design brief for Twinpalms Phuket stated that the project should demonstrate a forward eco-consciousness, as well as establishing and maintaining a high level of social responsibility. Today, Twinpalms Phuket is at the fore of local industry by being a leader in preserving the islands natural beauty, eco-systems and environment.

The unique design of Twinpalms Phuket Resort was created by Martin Palleros, one of the top landscape architects in the Asia-Pacific region. The aim of the development was to produce a property with an integrated landscape that works in harmony with nature. All the rooms and suites overlook the manicured grounds and benefit from having their own private garden, a feature which can be viewed from the oversized bathroom. The concern for the aesthetic has resulted in a beautiful and serene setting which has a modern, romantic twist. The architectural lines are fresh, clean and blend seamlessly with the environment.
In order to conserve the use of electricity at Twinpalms Phuket, the rooms and suites have many elements governed by computer. For example, the lights and the air-conditioning system are automatically shut-down if the doors to the room have been left open for more than a few minutes. Other features include central remote control, which offers an overview of the room status, as well as time-of-day controlled lights. In addition, each room has a main power switch that enables the management of energy usage to be centralised and efficiently regulated by the resident.

The ethos of energy conservation is continued through to the public areas of the property. All the restaurants at Twinpalms Phuket require minimal air-conditioning as they have an ‘open door’ policy. The practice allows the volume of power consumed by each outlet to be lowered and brought in line with the eco-conscious philosophy of the hotel.

So that the volume of waste created by Twinpalms Phuket Resort can be reduced, it is treated before it is released. All waste disposal is regulated following a strict recycle policy, while the waste water is filtered to remove as many impurities as possible.

Outside of the resort complex, Twinpalms Phuket has a significant presence amongst the local community. Even though all the beaches in Thailand are Public property, the hotel feels that it is responsible for the stretch of scenic coastline used by the business and its’ clients. Each day the immediate area is cleaned and maintained, with the entire Surin beach receiving similar attention once a week.

The hotel supports local businesses as often as it can. Even though some of the produce used at Twinpalms Phuket has to be obtained from overseas, the majority is sourced from nearby markets. Manufactured goods, such as beauty products, are provided by organic and actively eco-friendly local enterprises. Whenever possible, the hotel only conducts business with like-minded companies.
All the art-work found around the complex is created by Phuket residents. Phuket also provides over 90% of the workforce at Twinpalms Phuket, from the most junior position to the Hotel management.

Overall, the steps taken during the design process, the mature level of social responsibility and the continual eco-focused activities at Twinpalms Phuket have mitigated the impact of property on the community and the locality. The standards and the philosophy of the hotel work to ensure the positive reputation of Twinpalms on Phuket and the longevity of the natural beauty of the island for generations to come.
