Thai PM Visits Phuket
- Posted on 19 Mar, 2012
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is visiting Phuket today on a mobile cabinet session where a number of key Andaman region projects and issues are slated to be discussed. Her tour includes a visit to the tsunami memorial site in Khao Lak , and later she will preside over the opening ceremonies for the One Tambon, One Product fair at Saphan Hin public park in Phuket City.
Phuket residents will have noticed several billboards with PM Yingluck’s image on them being erected in the days leading up to her visit. This welcoming gesture is quite a contrast from her last visit prior to winning the election, where she was practically chased out of a Phuket hotel by protesters.
